Surfing Competitions in Noosa

The Noosa Festival of Surfing began with humble beginnings in 1992 and was a venue for members of the Noosa Malibu club to enjoy some healthy competition. In 1996 a professional division was introduced and prompted the name change to The Noosa Festival of Surfing (NFoS) in 1998. The World Tandem Surfing Championships were brought to Noosa in 1999 and Stand up paddle surfing was incorporated into the Festival in 2007 with live entertainment and fundraising auctions also being held. This annual event held in March each year, attracts local, national and international surfers. Divisions include, Men's and women's, boys and girls amateur long board surfing over 12 age and open divisions, specialty events including nose rider, finless, retro, old mal and stand up paddle and teams events including Champs for Charity, Family Challenge and International Clubs Challenge.

Out of the surf you can enjoy a full week of great surf-related family entertainment, including music, film, auctions and product launches.
